Kingdom of Cambodia used to be a rich and great empire in its old day history. Cambodia, or Kampuchea has a total area of 181,035 square kilometers (69,898 square miles) with a population of 14,241,640 in 2008. Cambodia has its east border connecting with Vietnam, north with Thailand and Lao as well as west side with the Gulf of Thailand.

90% of all population are native Cambodian speaking Cambodian language ( Khmer ), the rest are Vietnamese, Cham (champa), Khmer Leu, and others.

Cambodia Language and Religion:

Most of the old folks can speak French very good too because Cambodia was taken over by France for a long time, until November 9, 1953.

Cambodia is experienced by tropical monsoons and created into two seasons Rainy Season and Dry Season. Rainy season starts from May to October with a temperatures up to 22 °C. Dry season starts from November to April with a temperatures up to 40 °C.

The best time to travel Cambodia should start from November to January- that when the temperatures and humidity are in a great percent.

Cambodia Architecture:

Khmer architecture has a very unique masterpiece- like Angkor Wat Temple which was built in 12th century by Angkorian architecture and was managed by the king Jayavarman II. Angkor Wat was built, mostly, to serve the religious activity. The Angkor Wat has 5 towers representing Meru Mount, Hindu gods’ home.

Wearing and Dancing:

In the rural, Cambodian men like to wear short sleeve shirt made from cotton or silk and short pants, Krama ( Krama is made from cotton, using by Cambodian to protect the face from the sun, dust or wind, also instead of pants ), Sarong ( Sarong is a sheet of fabric using to wrap around the waist like a skirt ). Women likes to wear loose tops shirt and Sarong.

Cambodia has a very unique traditional dance or Classic dance which is used to represent Cambodia culture.

Cambodia has a total of 24 cities and provinces together. From, city to city or province to another is divided into Khan (district) – Sangkat (communes) – Krom (villages). The total of 24 cities and provinces together are Phnom Penh City, Pailin City, Kep City, Sihanouke Ville, Kandal Province, Takeo Province, Kampong Cham Province, Kampong Thom Province, Siem Reap Province, Preah Vihear Province, Oddar Meancheay Province, Banteay Meanchey Province, Battambang Province, Pursat Province, Kampong Chhnang Province, Kampong Speu Province, Koh Kong Province, Kampot Province, Prey Veng Province, Svay Rieng Province, Kratie Province, Stung Treng Province, Ratanakiri Province, Mondulkiri Province, Tonlé Sap.

Plov Jeat Lek 1 (Plov means Road, Jeat means National, Lek means Number), 167 kilometers or 104 miles in length, starts from Phnom Penh City to Bavith, Nak Loeurng, and Svayreang province.

Plov Jeat Lek 2, 137 kilometers or 86 miles in length, starts from Phnom Penh city to Phnom Din (Phnom means Mount, Din is the name) through Ta Khmao City to Takeo Province.

Plov Jeat Lek 3, 260 kilometers or 162 miles in length, starts from Phnom Penh city to Sihanouke Ville through Kampot Province.
