Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen meets with Chinese Premier

On Friday-Oct-24, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen meets with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to talk about the situation of Cambodia and Thailand also how to make both countries stop the violence, and no more land invasion from Thailand. The Premier Wen Said, China will try hard to help Cambodia and get both countries to join a good cooperation with each other. Wen also added China will continue their support to Cambodia on transportation, economic development, and infrastructure facilities as the year 2008 is the 50th anniversary of China-Cambodia relationship. Cambodia and Thailand Military Meet in Siem Reap

Since a high tension with gunfire exchanged in the last week, Thailand and Cambodia military are expected to negotiate with each other at Siem Reap with a topic on how to make the tension better, border dispute, and the respecting of the land around Preah Vihear TempleĀ  on Friday. Both prime ministers Hun Sen and Somchai Wongsawat are also expected to have an official talk in Beijing as well as with many high ranking leaders from European. It should be the time to end the long-running tensions on who is the ownership of land surrounding the temple. Cambodia History: Starting from Jayavarman II – King Sihanouk – Hun Sen

Kingdom of Cambodia was believed to come from The Funan Kingdom around the first century BC which mostly related to Indian culture, art, and religion. From the period of the ninth to the thirteenth centuries, The Khmer Prince known as Jayavarman II ruled the kingdom of Kambuja which now we call Kampuchea, or Cambodia. During the ruled under Jayavarman II, Khmer empire was very powerful by gaining its territory with successful war from neighbor enemies. Jayavarman II also made many amazing achievements in architecture and sculpture like building an immense irrigation system around Angkor Wat.
